Fall from Grace
Monday Sep 26, 2011
Monday Sep 26, 2011
We have a sense that the world is beautiful, but at the same time it is horribly corrupted. Why is there so much evil? The biblical account of the origin of humanity and our rejection of God’s purposes helps us understand the root of the world’s corruption. But what if you have a hard time believing the biblical account of Adam and Eve? We’ll address that. Listen in this week to feel the gravity of The Fall. (Message recorded 09-25-11)

Sympathy for the Devil?
Monday Sep 19, 2011
Monday Sep 19, 2011
“The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist” (from the film The Usual Suspects). Is there a devil, or is he just a personification of humanity’s evil tendencies? What does the Bible have to say about it? What did Jesus say? What did the Rolling Stones say? Listen to this week's message for some answers. Scripture: 1 Peter 5:8-9 (NLT) 8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. Observation: Peter—an eyewitness to the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Christ—teaches that Christians have a great enemy, the devil. He also teaches how to respond to the devil. Application: (Key in to verbs from 1 Peter 5:9.) • “Stand firm…” The devil wants to control me. I need to know my identity in Christ. • “…be strong…” The devil wants me to doubt. I need to have confidence in God and His plans. • “Remember…” The devil wants to isolate me. I need to be connected with other Christians. CONCLUSION: The most effective way to fight the devil is to be part of a community of believers. If you are not in the hunting party, you are going to be devil’s food. Prayer: Write down a personal prayer for today:

Entering the Kingdom as a Child (Authority)
Thursday Sep 08, 2011
Thursday Sep 08, 2011
Have you ever seen kids make demands of their parents? How about open defiance and disobedience? What about a kid who has been given everything they need and more, but instead of being satisfied they beg and whine for more? Maybe you know some adults like that. This week, get a crash course in biblical parenting, and to see how that applies to God parenting every one of us in His Kingdom. Confronting Compromise
Tuesday Aug 02, 2011
Tuesday Aug 02, 2011
Community progress can be killed by compromising God’s mission for us. The good news is that God is in the business of raising the dead. Even when we find ourselves dragged off by temptation, God loves us so much that He offers us new life in Christ. (Message recorded 07-31-2011)
